The Big Bad Wolf

Posted by Carla Fri, 31 Mar 2006 12:47:46 GMT

happy faced DougSo I had every intention of writing a blog and asking everyone to tell doug how great his buddy icon looked yesterday. He had just left the very very very big smile icon and moved to a normal happy faced doug. But no, we could not keep with the happy faced doug, it has now moved into the “big eye ball doug”.

Tiffany has always loved coming into my office and she will point to doug’s icon and say “look mommy! It’s my little daddy! and there is my little daddy and there is my little daddy!” She will say this to each and every icon of him. Tiffany always gets very excited about seeing his little pictures.

big smile iconWell, I was a little worried about the big smile. I thought as soon as tiffy saw it she would be reminded of the big bad wolf in the little red riding hood. I was sure she would have nightmares. Dreaming of daddy saying “The better to eat you with my dear ha ha ha!”

big eye Doug Yes, when the icon went back to normal I was very excited and thought this stage my big boy was going through was finally over. I call it a stage, all us mothers hope bad habits are just stages and know in our heart of hearts it truly will not last. But alas, Now it is “But daddy, what a big eye you have!” “The better to see you with my dear!” With the evil laugh to follow….........Ha …Ha….Ha….Ha!

Most Embarasing moments

Posted by Carla Sun, 12 Mar 2006 04:04:50 GMT

There are plenty of “most embarrassing moments” in my life. They seem to all come to light as I take part in yet another one. These are the things suburbia mothers have night mares about, you know, walking into a men’s restroom, calling a new baby a cute little boy and she is a girl, Asking a large lady when she is expecting only to find out she is not pregnant. Yes, these are all things I worry about. Today I added one to the list. Tiffany had another birthday party to go to. She has had a barrage of parties these past few weeks and I knew she had 2 this week, one a boy and one a girl, both from her pre-school class. This party was one I was really looking forward to. I have just started to get to know the mom, and the little boy is so cute and sweet. Well, I walk into the party, proudly carrying the present for next weekends party. I had the pink paper wrapped Barbie doll with a flower sucker bouquet taped to the top under a beautiful tulle bow. Yes, I was at Bryce’s party, Not the little girl from next weekend’s party. Unbelievable! She looked at the present and said in a sweet voice, Oh that is definitely a present from a girl. I then quickly grabbed it out of her hand and mumbled it was the wrong present, I brought the wrong one and had to go home and get the boy present, and that I was so very sorry. She had no idea how sorry I really was. How awful is that? WELL, From a Suburbia mother’s standpoint????? BAD!

Pine wood

Posted by Carla Thu, 09 Mar 2006 02:38:46 GMT

The pine wood that the cub scout car’s are made of is another new favorite of Kozmo’s. That stupid dog ate Joshua’s 1/2 complete car today. Ok, so the block is about 6 inches long and he ate 2 inches from the front. I could not figure out where these slivers of wood were coming from that kept showing up. Poor Josh sanded for hours last night and this morning so he could paint it this weekend. We have 2 weeks left until the derby so I guess it is off to the scout store to buy another block and start all over. Big Bad Chewing Dog!

Bananas

Posted by Carla Wed, 08 Mar 2006 04:25:54 GMT

Yep, Doug’s dog’s new favorite. Kozmo won’t take Pupperoni from the Dog school teacher but he will steal Bananas off the counter, (the highest point in my kitchen of which I thought he could not reach). He has demolished the whole bunch! There are canine teeth marks in each of them and 2 of which have 1/2 missing. He has taken them off the counter more than once today. I caught him in the middle of my favorite blanket, on the floor with the bunch between his paws eating them. I guess we move to putting things on the top of the refrigerator now. Big naughty banana loving dog!

another one

Ok 3 blogs in one day must be a record for me. I just got another e-mail from Lisa, my sister, which asks me to check all the naughty things on this very extensive list and then to pass it on to all my friends. Hmmmmmm I was a very good girl, most people thought of me as the goody two shoes type, but I still did some naughty things. I am just not thinking this is really something I want to do. Yeah, lets just send out an e-mail to my 12 closest friends telling them every bad thing I have done in my life time. Ummmmm NO!

Visiting the Sick

Posted by Carla Sun, 05 Mar 2006 00:17:55 GMT

A dear friend of mine, Sharon Gass, just had surgery and has been mostly off her feet all week. She refuses help, but accepted my offer of a visit today. I went and spent the afternoon there. I really enjoyed it. Doug got to take care of the kids. Sharon is doing much better and will be back up on her feet soon.

Doug’s aunt, Barbara Tucker, was in the hospital here for 2 weeks and I got to go visit with her quite a bit. It is truly amazing how sad it must be for some people not to have anyone visit when they are sick. How sad to have no one to make you smile and help brighten your day. Maybe it was so important to be there for them because I am just starting to understand that.

blogging

Posted by Carla Sun, 05 Mar 2006 00:02:42 GMT

So this should be easy right? This blogging is just writing down what your thinking or doing or have done that you would like to remember forever. It seems that if you sit down to your computer every day you should remember things to write about that you think are important enough to journal. Yes, a journal, on line journal that anyone who may be interested can go see and know your life in an instant. Anyone who may have the slightest interest can read. YIKES! The true thought of making sure it would be interesting enough to read in the first place sends me into the freaks. The thought of total strangers stumbling upon this bit of myself and making snap judgements on what or who I am by what they read. Double YIKES! Needless to say, this is not as easy as it first would seem. I feel I must qualify each and every thing I write. “Was that thing my kid did cute enough to blog? Is my stupid dog really that interesting? Is my every day house wife life interesting to anyone else but myself?” I can hardly think straight with all these things rolling around in my brain. Now for the twist of the knife, the straw that breaks the perverbial carla’s back…... My sister, and best friend, writes that she actually checks my blog every day. Every day! She wants to see what I am up to and what my kids and dog and expects a story. No longer am I allowed to only write when I think it passes the high standards of making my “cut” but blogging is really about keeping everyone up on the latest news. The pressure!
